Fitness Evolution

GSI employees Linda Bagby and Shashi Mathur recently visited Fitness Evolution – one of the many community outreach events that took place in March for Colon Cancer Awareness Month – to help raise awareness of the importance of colon cancer screening and early detection.

Shashi and Linda passed out information to the gym-goers and Linda, a medical assistant, answered questions.

Linda met one young lady, 36 years old, who asked when she should get a screening colonoscopy. Her mother had recently had one and had 15 polyps removed.

As Linda explained, early detection is key. The procedure is quick and the prep is much easier then it used to be.
