Dr. Talreja and Dr. Thanjan Work with HCB2 to Help Provide A Day of Free Colonoscopies

Here at Gastrointestinal Specialists, we like to acknowledge when our staff goes above and beyond to make a difference in patients’ lives and in our community. On Saturday, June 13^th, our very own Dr. Talreja and Dr. Thanjan participated in providing a day of free colonoscopies to the uninsured in the Richmond community. In just 8 hours, they were able to see a total of 21 patients, 45% of which had polyps that needed to be removed.

This great event was made possible by HCB2 and their collaboration with Access Now. Access Now helps provide the 22 free medical clinics in the Richmond area with the services and resources they need to help save lives.

Symptoms of colon cancer commonly include:

• Unexplained weight loss
