Born in Newark, N.J., Dr. Howard Kahn has spent his professional life here in Richmond, Va. He attended the College of William and Mary, where he was awarded a B.S. in 1968. He served as Scholastic Chairman of Phi Lambda Phi during his time at the College of William and Mary. He continued on to the Medical College of Virginia, attaining an M.D. in 1972 and remaining at MCV for his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine. Dr. Kahn then completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at The Medical College of Georgia in 1977.
Dr. Kahn was in private practice elsewhere in the Richmond area for 17 years, after which he joined GSI. He maintains a busy practice at MRMC, and is well known by all for his dry wit. Over the ensuing years, Dr. Kahn has served on multiple hospital committees, helping to guide the course of medical care delivery.
